the myrmidons

"The ancient poet Homer joins the rebellious Prince Hector and a band of mysterious warriors to defy the Olympians and try to prevent the Trojan War--and in the process inadvertently freeing humanity from the tyranny of the gods."
It was a time of gods and warriors...and a drunken poet called Homer. A lifelong love affair with mythological stories and adventure tales were the seeds for THE MYRMIDONS, a sprawling epic set in ancient times.
Centuries before composing The Iliad and The Odyssey, Homer is but a drunken destitute yearning for a better life he knows will never come. Meanwhile, Hector, the headstrong Trojan Prince, learns his fate has been sealed by the Olympians: To die in a great battle against the Greeks that will extinguish his lineage and kingdom.
When the titan Prometheus opens the door for them to rebel against their preordained destinies, Homer and Hector team up and embark on a thrilling adventure across the world of the gods aided by a nearly-invincible group of mysterious warriors called Myrmidons.
Blind to Prometheus's ulterior motives, Homer, Hector, and the Myrmidons race against time collecting Olympian artifacts they believe will stop the seemingly inevitable Trojan War--but instead end up freeing humanity from the shackles of the Gods. THE MYRMIDONS is a rollicking adventure that functions as a prequel to Homer's THE ILIAD, while adding a few twists to the story.
